Hornady 12- And 20-Gauge SST Shotgun Slugs

by Gary Lewis   |  September 22nd, 2010 1

The red polymer tip is the first thing that draws the eye. It is Hornady’s famous SST bullet in a shotgun slug. Use a rifled slug barrel to wring centerfire-rifle-style performance from the new Hornady 12- 20-Gauge Shotgun Slug.

Loaded in a 12-gauge 2 3/4-inch round, expect a muzzle velocity of 2,000 fps and, at 100 yard, 1,793 ft/lbs of energy.

These are some awesome slugs. I use these in a New England Arms Pardner 20 gauge with dove tail sights and they shoot awesome. I have shot a doe with these and she dropped in her tracks
