Deer of the Day Non-Typical Tennessee

Volunteer State Giant, Ralph Wilkerson

by Reader Submission   |  July 6th, 2012 1

This is a picture of my 74-year-old father, Ralph Wilkerson, of Joelton, Tennessee, with a giant he harvested on our private farm here in Tennessee. The deer scored 171 1/8 and had 17 points, including two gorgeous drop tines. We implemented a strict management plan several years ago and it’s paying off. We are seeing giant deer harvested that we’ve never seen before. It is an awesome deer with an awesome story. — Jason Wilkerson
