Trophy Photos From Our Readers -- April 2008
Jara Lawson, Iowa
On Oct. 16, 2007, Jara Lawson was muzzleloader hunting with her fiance Bryan Cassady in Appanoose County, Iowa. Jara was sitting in a ladder stand and Bryan was in a lock-on stand attached to the same tree. At 8 a.m. three bucks and a doe came running out of a thicket of pine trees.
A small 8-point buck and a doe started to walk away while a bigger 8-pointer started fighting with a 10-pointer. When the fight broke up, Jara shot and killed the big 8 with a .45 caliber CVA muzzleloader.
He was 40 yards away when she made her well-placed shot. Jara's buck scored 124 5/8. After hunting for 4 years, this was Jara's biggest buck to date!
