On Nov. 6, 2005, Jack Saracino of N. Massapequa, New York, was hunting in Alberta’s Peace River valley when he encountered this brute.
The big buck was actually in the process of chasing several smaller bucks away from his scrape line. Using a .240 Weatherby, Jack made a 125-yard shot on the 166 5/8-inch bruiser. “What a hunt!” Jack said. Jack also noted that the big buck had several scars and gouge marks on its neck and hindquarters from recent fighting.
