Dan Riggins, Alberta, Canada
On Nov. 19, 2006, Dan Riggins of Jacksonville, Florida, was hunting in Alberta, Canada, when he and his guide saw this monster buck at a distance of about 400 yards. Dan shot at the buck three times, missing with each shot. It was then that he realized he only had one bullet left.
Being many miles from camp, Dan had brought only 4 bullets with him that day. The buck ran over a hill and Dan and his guide went around the hill to try to cut him off. Sure enough the buck was there and much closer than before. Taking careful aim, Dan squeezed off his last shot and dropped the big brute in his tracks. Dan's 20-point non-typical officially scored 197 6/8.
