A beaming Dylan Humphries of Tifton, Georgia, proudly shows off his first buck ever. Dylan shot the deer on Nilo Plantation (near Tifton) on Nov. 4, 2006. Eight years old at the time, the young hunter was using a Ruger 77 Compact .243.
The rifle was an early 9th birthday present from his grandfather Bill Cooper, also of Tifton, whose name is well known to most readers of North American Whitetail.
Bill is a frequent contributor as well as a very active official B&C measurer.
