Trophy Photos From Our Readers
Scott Gangle, South Dakota
Having seen this buck in 2002, Scott Gangle of Lake City, South Dakota had several stands in place when the 2003 archery season opened. Scott hunted whenever he could during the season but to no avail.
Then, on Nov. 9, just before rifle season was scheduled to open, Scott and his dad decided to do a short drive on public ground not far from where the buck had been seen. Minutes after Scott climbed up into a cottonwood tree the buck Scott was after ambled by.
Scott made a perfect shot with his Martin Prowler and the buck ran only a short distance before going down. Scott's trophy sported a beautiful 8x7 rack including a drop tine on the left side. It later netted 126 5/8 P&Y points, good enough to give Scott his very first P&Y buck!
