On Dec. 28, 2004, Dave Treiber of Trappe, Maryland was hunting the late muzzleloader season in Easton, Maryland when he saw movement 120 yards away in a cutover area adjacent to a picked cornfield.
Using his binoculars, Dave realized it was a nice 8-point buck rubbing a 10-inch tree. Dave was able to drop the big 8-pointer with a single shot. The buck's antlers were still wrapped around the tree when Dave reached his trophy. The buck sported a 21 1/2-inch inside spread and grossed 147.
