It was around noon on Nov. 23, 2007, and Brian Kocher of Winamac, Indiana, was heading to his ground stand in Pulaski County during shotgun season when he ran into this bruiser at point-blank range. The alarmed deer ran about 65 yards and stopped.
With all of his gear still on his back, Brian grabbed his Mossberg bolt-action 12 gauge, grunted a couple of times and waited for a clear shot. Seconds later Brian dropped the buck in his tracks. The hefty Indiana trophy weighed in at 216 pounds and sported a wide 8-point rack.
