Bill Major, Massachusetts
You might say that Bill Major of East Freetown, Massachusetts has had himself a whale of a 2006 season! Bill leases land in Fulton County, Illinois. After hunting hard throughout the month of November with his Mathews bow, Bill arrowed this heavy framed 11-pointer.
Then, during the first gun season on Nov. 17, Bill shot this awesome 200-class 18-pointer with his brand-new Thompson/Center Pro Hunter 20 gauge.
"I hunted the big deer for two weeks and saw him three times," Bill said. "On opening day of shotgun season, he slipped up and followed a doe out of a deep draw. My shot was true at 165 yards and another dream had come true for me. He field dressed at 246 pounds and green-scored right at 200 inches."
Bill's 2006 "dream season" in Fulton County, Illinois, comes on the heals of an exemplary 2005 season in which he arrowed a wide-spreading 5x5 that netted 171 4/8 typical.
