John Motz of Carrollton, Ohio, decided to take up bowhunting in 2006. On Saturday Nov. 10, 2007, he was bowhunting for the second year in row in Carroll County not far from his home.
After becoming frustrated because he had seen very little deer movement, he decided to shoot the next deer that came by his stand, whether it be a buck or a doe. As luck would have it, John's next deer turned out to be this 17-point bruiser. He wasted little time in sending an arrow through the buck's vitals. John's first bow buck later green-scored 169 4/8 inches!
