Trophy Photos From Our Readers -- February 2008
Rene Bonneau & David Robillard, Iowa
In November 2006 Rene Bonneau and David Robillard of Newport Center, Vermont, harvested two nice bucks (a 135-inch 10-pointer and a 121-inch 8-pointer) while bowhunting with J&S Trophy Hunts in Iowa. Amazingly, both hunters were hunting on the same farm and set up no more than 200 yards apart. Both bucks were taken within 30 minutes of each other on Nov. 7.
One year later on Nov. 11, 2007, both hunters found themselves bowhunting the same tract again. This time, however, they were in Illinois. Like the year before, they were hunting no less than 200 yards apart.
"Wouldn't you know it! We tagged out on two nice bucks on the same morning again!" David said. "Rene's buck was a 140-inch 10-pointer and mine was a unique non-typical that had a total of 14 points. Eleven of those points were on one side including a drop tine that was approximately 10 inches long."
If this trend continues, 2008 stands to be one heck of a year for these two avid hunters!
