Trophy Photos From Our Readers -- January 2007
Will Threadgill, Mississippi
Hunting near Lexington, Mississippi, on Nov. 20, 2006, Will Threadgill was returning to his 4-wheeler after the morning hunt. As he slipped through the woods, he saw a small 8-point buck cross the road ahead of him.
While sneaking in for a closer look, he suddenly saw a much larger buck 15 yard away. Will wasted little time in raising his .300 WSM and putting two rounds into the big buck's shoulder.
Will's trophy whitetail turned out to be a main-framed 4x5 rack with 13 points in all. With two of its longest tines measuring over 11 inches, the buck grossed 164 7/8 inches. The buck also sported very heavy bases, an inside spread of 17 inches, and main beams of 24 and 25 inches!
