Using a .50 caliber Thompson/Center Encore, a smiling Peter Prather Sr. of Monterey, Michigan, anchored this awesome non-typical giant on the third day of Michigan's 2006 firearms season.

Peter was hunting in Allegan County near Monterey Township when he caught up with the 20-point monster. The 5 1/2 year old buck field dressed at 238 pounds and green-scored just over 190 inches. One shot at 90 yards with his trusty Encore front-stuffer and the buck of a lifetime was his!
