Brent King was hunting near Demopolis, Alabama, in Marengo County on the afternoon of Dec. 16, 2006, when he encountered this unusual "cactus head" buck. With a total of 20 points, the buck had never before been seen on the property where Brent was hunting.
Cactus heads usually occur after a buck has been castrated in the wild from some type of accident. The antlers are never shed and they never lose their velvet. Brent's unusual trophy was 5 1/2 years old and weighed 225 pounds.
