After hunting every day of the 2006 Maryland rifle season with little to show for his efforts, Pat Petrera of Salisbury, Maryland, crossed paths with this long-tined 8-pointer less than an hour before dark on the last day of the season.
Pat shot the 156 inch (gross) trophy whitetail in nearby Sageberry Swamp. Using his trusty Model 70 Winchester in .264 Winchester magnum, the hunter made a perfect shot at 100 yards. The 190-pound 4x4 also sported several sticker points, giving the rack much character.
