Mark Johnson, Kansas
Although Mark Johnson lives in Texas, he and his son started bowhunting in Kansas about five years ago because of the "big buck" potential. On Oct. 6, 2005, Mark suffered a life-threatening 18-foot fall while placing a hang-on stand in a tree on his Kansas property.
Mark was air-lifted to the Wichita Trama Center where he was treated for a concussion and a dislocated shoulder. He also received 42 stitches in his left leg. But you can't keep a good man down for long.
Mark returned to Kansas two weeks later to pick up where he had left off. On Nov. 6, 2005, all that pain and suffering paid off when he arrowed a massive 16-point giant with a unique pair of drop tines on the left side. Mark's Kansas monster grossed 201 3/8 non-typical points!
