Trophy Photos From Our Readers - March 2009
Mike Tichenor, Indiana
Mike Tichenor was hunting the late muzzleloader season near Greensburg, Indiana. After the morning hunt on a Saturday, he came out of the woods at about 10 a.m. And rode around a field on his 4-wheeler to check for sign.
Noticing a freshly rubbed tree, he got off to check it out. That's when he looked down in the woods and saw a big buck partially hidden in the brush. The buck had its head down and was acting strangely. However, Mike wasted little time in dispatching the buck as soon as the big deer presented a broadside shot.
Then, to Mike's utter amazement, he discovered the reason the buck had been acting so strangely. The buck Mike had shot was locked together with a second buck that was already dead! The dead buck had 11 points and scored 160 inches. Mike's trophy scored 163 inches!
