In mid-October 2007 Craig Malone of Dow City, Iowa, was sitting in his stand for only the second time of the season.
"It was mostly to view the activity and collect the memory cards from my trail cameras after 2 weeks of steady rain," Craig said.
"I had only been in the stand for about 15 minutes when several bucks came into the bean field I was watching and started eating. I grunted and the largest one came running toward me. He was a nice 8-pointer, but I decided it was early and I wanted something bigger. Just about dark this guy came out of the same area and I could not pass him up. My Mathews bow dropped him in his tracks at 15 yards. He's a beautiful 5x4 with a couple of kickers on each side."
