On Oct. 22, 2008, Jon Goldsberry of Cincinnati, Ohio, rattled in this 153-class buck at 9:30 a.m. in the morning. Jon double lunged the trophy whitetail at 36 yards. However, when he approached the spot where he had shot the buck, he could not find a single drop of blood. All of Jon's friends were hunting and his wife was the only person available to help with the tracking job (although she had never tracked a deer before).
"This is sort of embarrassing," Jon said. "When we arrived at the spot, she picked up
on the trail right away. Then she found my arrow. I kept telling her that I didn't think the deer had gone in the direction that she was following, but there lay the buck about 50 yards later. The experience that was shared between us was unforgettable and the fact that she enjoyed it meant more to me than all the prep work and the shot itself!"
