Trophy Photos From Our Readers
Shannon Dickerson, Texas
In mid-November, 2005, Shannon Dickerson of Combine, Texas was hunting the Texas panhandle when he ran into this big 10-pointer. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and a cold front had just come through.
Shannon got to his stand about an hour before sun up, and the moon was still shining brightly. Sitting there in the darkness he could see the silhouettes of two deer off in the distance. Later about 30 minutes after the sun came up, a doe appeared, followed by this brute.
The doe stopped to feed while the buck rubbed his antlers on a mesquite tree. Shannon quickly aimed his Model 70 Winchester 7mm. magnum. He fired and the big buck went down. Despite missing its right brow tine and G-4, Shannon's awesome trophy nonetheless scored 153 7/8. In seven years of hunting, this was by far Shannon's best buck!
