Chris Mains of Scottsburg, Indiana was hunting in Scott County on Nov. 12, 2005. He had just returned to his stand after taking a break for lunch.
It was about 1 p.m. and just as he was getting ready to climb back up into his tree stand he spotted a 140-class buck about 65 yards away. Chris quickly readied his Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun and was preparing to squeeze the trigger when this giant stepped out from behind a blown down treetop.
Chris shot the huge buck at 50 yards. Being heavily palmated on the right side, the huge 12-pointer grossed 192 5/8 and netted 182 4/8 non-typical points!
