Emett Diede, North Dakota
Seventeen-year-old Emett Diede of Richarton, North Dakota arrowed this awesome 10-pointer on Sept. 23, 2006. Emett was hunting near a food plot in the southwestern part of the state. Amazingly, Emett had just purchased a brand-new Martin Magnum bow from Cabelas a few days before his hunt.
After practicing on a decoy at home for several days, he headed out to hunt. When he spotted the big buck walking toward him, Emett dropped to the ground and started crawling. After a 20 minute stalk, Emett got up on one knee and made a 25-yard broadside shot.
The big buck had a huge body and it took several men to get him in the back of a truck. Emett's buck grossed 150. According to Emett's mom Nori, "This was his very first bow hunt and he is in love with the bow and hooked for life on hunting the great white-tailed deer that we are blessed to have in southwest North Dakota!"
