9 New Binoculars for 2012

Any one of these new binoculars available to deer hunters this fall would serve you well in your trophy buck quest.

Alpen Rainer HD ED

Over the last several years, Alpen Optics has built a reputation for building great optics at a reasonable price. Outdoorsmen looking for high-end binoculars should check out the Alpen Rainier HD ED binoculars. These binoculars have all kinds of features like a magnesium body for strength and shock resistance and long eye relief. Plus, they're nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed so they are fog-proof and waterproof. The Rainier is made with BAK-4 prisms with SHR metallic coating, PXA phase coating, and UBX multi-coating, providing a crystal clear image when looking at the buck of a lifetime.

Steiner Nighthunter XP

Steiner is one of the leaders of the pack when it comes to making high-quality compact binoculars. For hunters who like to be in the stand at first light and stay until the last drop of light is gone, Steiner makes the Nighthunter XP. These binoculars come with Steiners HD technology which makes them sharp and clear. The Nighthunter XP was designed for low-light conditions. They are available in 8x42, 10x42, 8x56 and 10x56.

Kowa SV

Kowa makes great binoculars that don't break the bank. The Kowa SV binoculars have a highly reflective multi-coating on the lenses and prism, which provides great light-gathering capabilities in low-light conditions. The SV binocular is compact, easy to grip and comes filled with nitrogen gas, which eliminates fogging. The KV is waterproof.

Leupold BX-3 Mojave

Leupold brought a new binocular to market called the BX-3 Mojave Series. The Mojave Series is lightweight thanks to an open bridge design that sheds weight without compromising quality and durability. The Mojave is built with cold mirror coated prisms and fully multi-coated lenses, which provides amazing brightness and resolution. These rugged waterproof binoculars are built to last and available in many models including 8x42 and 10x50.

Redfield Rebel

For people wanting lightweight, no frills binoculars, Redfield makes the Rebel 8x32 binocular. They weigh 17 ounces, come with fully multi-coated lenses, are nitrogen-filled and waterproof. The Rebel is built with a fully armored aluminum body and has twist-up eye cups. Best of all, they cost less than it costs to fill up a diesel pickup truck.

Vortex Viper HD

Hunters have a reputation for being hard on their optics. For hunters who beat up their gear, Vortex Optics has the new Viper HD binoculars that come with high-density extra-low dispersion glass. The Viper comes with Add XR fully multi-coated lenses that deliver crisp details with impressive resolution and color fidelity. Best of all, Vortex optics come with a VIP warranty, which is a lifetime, unlimited, unconditional warranty. So even if they get run over by a truck, they are covered.

Weaver Kaspa

Outdoorsmen on a budget who want high-end optics should check out the Kaspa binoculars from Weaver. The Kaspa binos come with many features often only found on high-end optics, including twist-out eye cups, roof prism and fully multi-coated lenses. The hinge design makes them easy to hold and easy for anyone to use. The Kaspa is available in 8x42 or 10x50.

Simmons ProSport

Simmons makes a great binocular called the ProSport Porro that is perfect for hunting and watching sporting events. These compact and full-size optics come in a variety of sizes and magnifications. They are built with BK7 prism glass and feature a porro prism system and fully coated lenses. These binoculars are encased in rubber armor for superior durability in the field. For hunters, the 10x50 or 8x40 is probably the best option.

Bushnell Legend HD

Sometimes bulky binoculars can be difficult to bring into the woods. That is why Bushnell created the new Legend HD 10x26. These compact binoculars fold up so they can easily fit in a small backpack or pocket. Although they are small in scale, they are big on features. They are made with BAK-4 porro prisms and multi-coated glass, which translates into crystal clear glass that work well in all lighting conditions. The Legend HD binoculars are fog-proof, waterproof and come with Bushnell's RainGuard HD lens coating that sheds water like a duck.
