NAW Reader Photos: Kids in the Field

NAW Reader Photos: Kids in the Field

Kids are the future, that's no secret. But for whitetail hunting, children are the core of what we do, and they often provide our favorite moments in the stand. The first father/son hunt can provide a wealth of memories that last a lifetime and be the start of something great. (No, we didn't forget father/daughter moments, they're just as great.)

Before we get too sappy about the subject, though, we'd like to take a minute to highlight some great young members of our all-new NAW Community. Since its launch in October, the site has been a hub for whitetail conversation and the place to go to share your photos.

With that in mind, we've collected our favorites shots of kids in the field so far, and we'll be sure to add more as they're uploaded. Enjoy!

Another Kansas Monster

Casey Gobel, of Benton, Kan., posted this photo from the NAW Community App on his iPhone. Awesome rack, cute kid and another great buck from Kansas.

A Virginia Bruiser

Jordan Foltz, of Virginia, killed this buck during muzzleloader season. After tracking the monster buck for three days, Foltz finally got his shot and nailed it. Nothing like featuring a little bit of perseverance on the NAW Community.

A Florida Keeper

River Law, of Florida, killed this 80-inch deer and posted it in the NAW Community. While it doesn't compare to a lot of other deer around the country, Law said it was a privilege to kill a deer that size from where he hunts.

The Next Generation of Hunters

Micah Buzzard posted this photo of nice buck with impressive brow tines. There's nothing we love more than seeing the next generation of hunters having fun and growing up right before our eyes.

Alabama 12-Pointer

Chris Kilpatrick, of Cordova, Ala., posted this picture of a very nice 12-pointer killed on his property. As the NAW Community itself proves, hunting is always more fun when you have friends to share it with.

The Shed Hunter

Brian Duncan, of Virginia, posted this adorable photo of his daughter, who joined him for some offseason shed hunting. It's awesome to see the next generation of deer hunters in action already. Way to go dad, and thanks for sharing with the NAW Community.

Young Bucks

Seth Hess posted the following picture on the NAW Community. Readers guessed the score somewhere in the 115- to 130-inch range, but either way, Hess was happy with his buck.

Pretty in Pink

Dennis Stanley, of South Dakota, posted the following picture of his daughter on the NAW Community. After a road trip to the taxidermist and his daughter's favorite shopping hot spot — Cabela's — Stanley said he's proud to pass on the lifestyle.

"It is our responsibility to PASS IT ON. And it starts way before they are able to hunt."

A Family Tradition

Ryan Romero, of Johnson Bayou Landing, La., posted this picture of his younger sister and her outstanding 174-inch buck on the NAW Community. With a few huge bucks of his own posted on NAW, it's clear deer hunting runs in the family.

First Time for Everything

Simmons Hayes posted the photo of this doe on the NAW Community. He said it was his first deer kill ever.
