New York, NY (June 28, 2011) – For the past seven years, North American Whitetail TV has led the industry with their ability and ease to teach whitetail behavior and management to ensure their viewers maximize their time outdoors. Returning with the dynamic duo of Stan Potts and Gordon Whittington, North American Whitetail presented by Arctic Cat begins its eighth season on Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, June 29 at 9 pm ET. And this season, North American Whitetail TV (NAW) will celebrate its 100th episode on air – a rank not many outdoor TV shows have obtained.
Returning on NAW is the “From the Stand” segment hosted by Stan Potts, who explores topics ranging from tactical hunting advice to ammo selection to deer management philosophies. As one of the world’s most respected whitetail hunters, Potts is a natural for this role, sharing the knowledge that has helped him take four 200-inch bucks and many other trophy whitetails. “Our ‘From the Stand’ segment was really popular with viewers last year, so we’re bringing it back in 2011,” notes the Illinois native. “We’re all looking for some little edge in our deer hunting, and we’ll try to share that kind of info every week.”
Potts and Whittington again are joined by renowned deer researcher Dr. James Kroll, the research biologist widely known as “Dr. Deer.” Joining the TV team is North American Whitetail editor Patrick Hogan. And continuing to pop in from time to time will be some longtime NAW friends, including Greg Miller and Kandi Kisky.
Season 8 will focus on real-world whitetail action and information of interest to viewers everywhere. As always, there will be fair-chase trophy deer hunts from across North America, along with the ever-popular “Muzzy Moment” featuring amazing whitetail video and photos from viewers. Dr. Kroll’s insights into deer behavior and management, as well as the “Big Buck Profile,” round out each episode.
“It’s going to be a great season,” notes NAW editor in chief Gordon Whittington, who co-hosts the weekly program. “As always, we continue to focus on producing a fast-paced show filled with free-range hunting action and information about our number one big-game species. Virtually every show will feature at least one heart-pounding bowhunt, which our viewers tell us they love. But we’re not leaving out the firearms folks. We’ll have thrilling rifle and muzzleloader adventures in a wide range of locations, including some that are off the beaten path for hunting TV.
“On top of all this,” Whittington points out, “there will be one episode unlike any other we’ve ever aired. That will be NAW’s 100th show, and it will be an amazing walk down memory lane. We’ll be going back to the beginning and touching on a number of unforgettable hunts and unique special segments. If you’re into big whitetails, this is one show you simply won’t want to miss.”
