Josh Riggs and his father spend as much time as possible during deer season chasing big bucks on an 80-acre parcel of private land in LaSalle County, Illinois.
On the opening morning of shotgun season, Josh was set up in the woods, sitting in his Realbark deer stand. Around 7:30 a.m, he spotted an nice 10-point buck that was chasing two does around 100 yards from his stand.
The does started toward Riggs, who was hopeful the nannies would bring along the boyfriend, but when the does came back into view, the 5x5 hadn't come along for the ride.
Riggs glanced towards "something" in the opposite direction and spotted an absolute freak staring right at him from 20 yards away.

"The second his glance shifted, I shot him with my Mossberg 12-gauge and received a confirming kick, but consecutively fired two more rounds because there was no way I was letting that monster get away," shared Riggs.
The buck had 31-points, grossed 215 inches and netted 199 4/8.
Congrats on a fantastic buck Josh!
