While hunting in a ground blind the opening morning of the 2011 Missouri youth hunting season with his father Chet, 6-year-old David Reid was able to harvest his first ever buck from 50 yards with his New England youth .243!
Dad might have been more excited than the young hunter.
"I can't tell you how overwhelmed I was when he pulled the trigger and the deer fell in his tracks and (seeing) the excitement of the young man when he saw the buck go down," shared Chet. "He jumped in the air and yelled 'whaaawhooo!' and landed with his arms wrapped around my neck with the best hug a dad could get."
Congrats to both Chet and David on a fine first buck!
