Deer of the Day - An Iowa Surprise, Kyle Swenson

Not long after he'd sent his brother a bogus text message about seeing a big buck, the real thing strolled into Kyle Swenson's field of view while bowhunting in Iowa. Set up on the ground, the young bowhunter was positioned just at the tip of a finger of timber that overlooked a 10 acre pasture. A nice 140-inch 10-point buck had stepped out to follow a doe and Swenson was set on dropping the brute.

After nocking his brand new Mathews Z7 with his focus on the 10 point, he spotted an absolute hoss that had also joined the party that was standing 100 yards away. He gave the buck three straight grunts and a golden estrus wick started to work its magic.

Swenson made a perfect shot from 40 yards and had his buck of a lifetime! The buck featured 20 points and green scored 179 2/8 inches!
