Deer of the Day - The Zombie Buck, Ed Hurtig

While hunting along the Republican River near Courtland during the Kansas rifle season, Ed Hurtig dropped a battle-hardened buck as it strolled into his shooting lane with a doe in tow.

The big bodied deer, was missing both brow tines and had several other antlers broken off from its fall fighting.

Instead of dragging the buck out through 80 acres of timber, the creative Hurtig floated the buck out, along with his brother's deer, in a canoe down the Republican.

Congrats on a great buck Ed!
