Ron Thibodeau, Florida

After receiving an invitation from friend Ollie Sample to hunt an 800-acre piece of managed land in Santa Rosa County, Florida, Ron Thibodeau made the most of it. Well before dawn on the morning of Oct. 16, 1995, Ron drove over to Ollie's house to meet him for the hunt. As they drove to the property, Ollie asked his guest to pick a number between one and eight. Ron said, "Four," and was taken to hunt stand No. 4, near the edge of a food plot. His choice was a good one, because around 7:30 several deer showed up, including this 162-pound 8-pointer. Ron, a resident of Pace, shot the deer at 12 yards. Ollie's Taxidermy in Milton, Florida, later mounted the trophy.
