Every great hunting rifle has some genesis in a military model that perfected the key features of its operation. Thus, it should be no surprise that firearms with the features of tactical rifles used in modern conflicts are finding a welcome audience among more sportsmen.
Remington Model R-15
The R-15 in .30 Rem. boasts ballistics comparable to a .308 and legitimized the R series of rifles from Remington as a true deer rifle. The R-15 features a 22-inch barrel crafted from Chrome-Moly steel and free-floated in the machined aluminum fore-end tube and given a recessed crown. The semi-auto rifle tips the scales at a respectable 7 1/2 pounds. (remington.com)
