A look at a 226-inch Ohio Trophy deer taken by 13-year-old Kurt Mallett
There's something to be said about being in the right place at the right time when it comes to deer hunting and that's certainly the case with 13-year-old Kurt Mallett.
As the massive buck was making a scrape, the young hunter grabbed his bleat and grunt call, with an attempt to bring the buck closer.
After a couple of calls, the monarch started to head Kurt's way and he immediately put the video camera down and picked up his Horton crossbow.
The big mainframe 10-point featured 21 scorable points and had a green gross non-typical score of 226 and netted 219 6/8.
Kurt and his father Mike were able to recover the deer within 15 minutes the next morning. The deer only traveled about 60 yards from where he was hit.
A true buck of a lifetime for a 13-year-old hunter! Congrats Kurt!
With the buck standing broadside, Kurt got a shot off at 25 yards, hitting him perfectly.

Sitting in a stand with his father in southeast Ohio on October 26th, the young hunter had a video camera in his hand and was spending time videoing several does off in the distance when he spotted this absolute boss hog step out between 75 and 100 yards away.
