Hunting apparel gets better every year with textile and manufacturing advancements. Here's a look at the best new items in the marketplace.
Cabela's Made In The Shade Cabela's has a new warm-weather hunting garment called Made in the Shade. It is available in pants and a shirt. The Made in the Shade garment is lightweight and has a UPF rating of 50+ to shield up to 98 percent of UV rays. Each garment is made of quick-drying 100-percent polyester ripstop for durability. The shirt and pants come with pockets to store hunting gear including game calls, a wallet or a smart phone.
Copperhead Clothing Copperhead Clothing has brought a new perspective to the realm of scent-elimination hunting clothes with its new line of copper-laced base layers. Copperhead products claim to reduce human scent by eliminating odor-causing bacteria, and the copper technology is effective in all temperature ranges. The anti-fungal, anti-bacterial line includes socks, pants, shirts and facemasks.

Gamehide Rubline Gamehide has teamed up with
Mathews to produce a line of clothes for Mathews fans that comes in Mathews' Lost Camo. Included in the lineup is the Gamehide Rubline jacket, which incorporates HyperHide fabric, a soft, silent, windproof material. The Rubline includes handwarmer and chest pockets that can double as vents and a zippered slot in the upper back so your safety harness can be worn underneath the jacket.
Red Head 3D Evolution Hunters who want to disappear into their surroundings should look at the new Redhead 3D Evolution jacket or pants from
Bass Pro . Reminiscent of a Ghillie suit, this 3D clothing looks like clumps of grass and leaves, which helps break up the human outline. The Evolution is available in Mossy Oak Brush, Mossy Oak Break Up, Realtree Max-1, Realtree Hardwoods Green, Prairie Ghost and Ridge Ghost.
Rocky Athletic Mobility Well known for their hunting footwear already,
Rocky has stormed onto the hunting scene this season with a new of hunting apparel called Rocky Athletic Mobility. Comprised of lightweight layers, insulation layers and outer shell layers (pictured is the Level 3 jacket), this new Rocky system has an answer for all scenarios, and it won't break the bank either.
Scent Blocker Super Freak Scent Blocker introduces a new line of lightweight, technologically advanced hunting apparel called Super Freak. Built with 'infused carbon technology ' and Body Lock garment closure, the Super Freak pants and jacket are designed to contain human odor, and the line's resilient four-way stretch fabric provides comfort and durability. Available in Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity and Realtree AP.
Scent-Lok Full Season Recon Scent-Lok has many new items for 2012, including a line carrying its new carbon technology. On the clothing side of things, they are offering the new Full Season Recon, which comes with a sherpa-fleece lining and weather-resistant shoulder panels that will keep hunters on stands facing the elements with more comfort during colder weather situations. On the technology side of things, Scent-Lok has a new carbon technology called Carbon Alloy that can increase the spectrum of adsorption by its ability to target specific human odors better than carbon alone. Carbon Alloy combines carbon and other technologies to help Scent-Lok products be even more effective than ever before.
Sitka Dew Point Sitka Gear makes high-end gear that is built to last. Their new Dew Point clothing line is made with a two-way stretch Gore-Tex fabric that is lightweight, waterproof and durable. The Dew Point comes with welded waterproof zippers, full-side zippers on the pants and comes in Gore's Optifade Open Country pattern. The pants were built with an articulated design, which makes walking and stalking easier. Like all Sitka Gear, the Dew Point Clothing has all the bells and whistles.
Under Armour Scent Control Under Armour bolstered its presence in the hunting apparel arena this year with the introduction of a new line of products incorporating its Scent Control technology. The new garments help cut down human odor by trapping human vapor odor with synthetic zeolites and suppressing growth of odor-causing bacteria with anti-microbial silver. The Under Armour Scent Control system includes an entire line of garments from base layers to outerwear, including the Deadcalm Jacket, as well as its new Under Armour Scent Control Spray.
