8 New Rifles From the 2012 SHOT Show

The 2012 SHOT Show is underway! Here's a look at some of the new rifles we've seen from the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Traditions Vortek Ultralight LDR (Long Distance Rifle)

The Vortek from Traditions isn\'t new, but a Vortek with a 30-inch barrel is. The longer barrel allows for increased accuracy at longer distances. MSRP ranges from $459 (black) to $679 (camo\'d with a scope).

Weatherby Vanguard Series 2

Calling it the "biggest thing from Weatherby since the introduction of the Mark V" the Weatherby Vangaurd Series 2 is a bolt-action rifle with a two-stage trigger, 3 position safety and SUB-MOA accuracy guarantee. MSRP is $599!

Winchester Model 70 75th Anniversary Model

The Model 70 turns 75 years old in 2012 and Winchester Repeating Arms is commemorating the occasion with a 75th Anniversary Model. Chambered in .30-06, look for a Grade IV/V fancy walnut stock, engravings, and highly polished metal surfaces along with all the features of Winchester\'s Model 70. MSRP for this anniversary gun is [imo-slideshow gallery=38],999.

T/C Dimension

One of the "stirs" on the SHOT Show Floor is over the T/C Dimension, a new bolt-action rifle that features interchangeable calibers/barrels and an aluminum receiver that fits all short, medium and long cartridges. The T/C Dimension is available in 10 different calibers. MSRP is $650 for the rifle. Additional barrels are $200, bolts - $125.

Mossberg MMR Hunter

The Mossberg MMR Hunter is a modern sporting rifle and features a 20-inch barrel, aluminum tube forend, A2-style stock, 5+1 capacity and is available in three different finishes: phosphate black, Mossy Oak Brush, and Treestand. Chambered in .223 and 5.56NATO, the MMR Hunter Treestand version has an MSRP of $1010.00.

Merkel Helix Carbon

The RX.Helix from Merkel is a linear bolt-action rifle that allows a shooter to safely cycle his bolt without having to rotate or tip the bolt to cycle the gun. And because the linear motion of the bolt handle is transmitted to the bolt head at a ration of 1:2, the bolt-action is twice as fast. The Helix Carbon is a rifle series featuring stocks made from carbon fiber and a carbon-coated barrel via five layers of carbon laminate. MSRP $5,495.

Ruger American Rifle

Ruger has entered the value bolt-action rifle market with its American Rifle. Available in .30-06, .270 Win., .243 and .308, the American features an adjustable (3-5 pounds) Ruger Marksman Trigger, cold hammer-forged barrel, and a four round rotary magazine. Best thing about this gun? The price...yours for $449.

Remington Model 700 50th Anniversary Editions

The Model 700 from Remington turns fifty years old this year, and there are several offerings from the firearm manufacturer commemorating the event.
