16 Times Whitetails Were Unusually Where They Shouldn't Be

A look into some of the craziest places whitetails have ever ended up.

16 Times Whitetails Were Unusually Where They Shouldn't Be

Whitetails are among the most adaptable mammals on earth. They’ve learned to thrive in a vast array of habitat types, including big timber, agricultural land, open plains, mountain country, swamp ground and more. Simply, they learn how to not only survive, but thrive, in the places they call home.

They’ve even learned to adapt to suburban and city dwellings. This still requires good habitat, of course. But some city layouts offer broken patches of cover, and deer live there. However, sometimes they get into places they shouldn’t and have negative encounters with civilization. Others find themselves in other weird places. Here are 16 whitetail deer where they shouldn’t be.

1. Big 8-Pointer Crashes Beauty Salon

You’ve seen plenty of young bucks, does and fawns tearing through public business settings. Seeing a big, mature whitetail is entirely different, though. Here, a big 8-pointer crashed a beauty salon, and not one of the customers or employees were happy about it. (Thumbnail at the top of the article) Watch here

2. Mad-Dash Doe Body Slams Front Door

Full of spit and vinegar, a pair of antlerless deer rounded the bend and circled the house. One veered off, but the other took the front door head-on. One poor lady didn’t know what to do, and the cats weren’t having any of it. Crazy enough, the deer made it to the basement and destroyed the place. Watch here

3. The Open Wound

This deer shouldn’t be on earth. With an injury like that, it should be long dead. There’s exposed diaphragm and organs. Is that a lung I see? Deer don’t survive such wounds. Somehow, this buck is still walking, at least for a time. Watch here

4. An Untold Injury

This deer shouldn’t be on earth, either. This might be the second-craziest injury I’ve ever seen. My only guess is entanglement with a fence. Regardless, it looks seriously painful. It just goes to show how tough whitetails truly are. Watch here

5. Salty Doe Vandalizes Butcher Shop

It’s official. It has begun. Nature is fighting back, and it all started with this doe vandalizing on a local butcher shop. The doe ran across a snow-packed parking lot, stormed through the glass front door, milled around the shop a minute, and departed the way she came. Located in Moorhead, Minnesota, the She Said Butcher Shop owner and her child were certainly taken aback by the incident. It will certainly be an eventful memory for some time to come. Watch here

6. Big Buck High Jumps Off Parking Structure

Rarely do whitetails make it into parking structures in cities, but this big deer sure did. It ran the loops, and eventually decided to dive off the edge of the parking structure. While the video ends there, one can reason the ending wasn’t pretty. Watch here

7. The Baptist Buck

Whitetails don’t go to church, but this buck did. He barged into East Side Baptist in Fort Smith. It ran through the glass door. Fortunately, the church staff was able to get the deer back out of the building and into the great outdoors where it belongs. Watch here

8. Yearling Buck Breaks into Pet Store

Deer have entered into a vast number of stores nationwide. Here, a yearling buck breaks into a pet store. People at Premier Pet Supply in Beverly Hills received a shopping experience they never bargained for, and it was full of live action. People chased this 1 1/2-year-old buck until it finally departed from the store. Watch here

9. Big Doe in Wally World

Stroll through a Walmart at night and you’re bound to see plenty of interesting things. Usually, an estranged old doe isn’t one of them. Here, that’s exactly what happened, though. Incredibly, a Walmart employee wrangled the deer and pinned it to the store floor. She went above and beyond to ensure the deer didn’t damage store goods or shoppers. Obviously, she deserves a raise. 10. Buck Fawn in Aldi

Take a quick search through YouTube and you’ll see plenty of videos of whitetails traversing grocery stores. Maybe they’re trying to max out their greens and grains. Perhaps they just got lost. Regardless, it seems to happen with regularity. This Aldi, which is located in western Pennsylvania, received an unusual guest one night. As KDKA2 CBS Pittsburgh reporter John Shumway said, “these Aldi doors don’t discriminate between two-legged creatures, and those with four.” Watch here

13. Doe Goes to the Doctor

True to suburban buck fashion, this deer crashed through the front door and bumbled around the store. The yearling spike proceeded to trash the Boost Mobile business. 15. Deer on a Trail Cam

Trail cameras are natural places to find deer, right? Nothing out of the ordinary there. But when it’s already dead and shoulder mounted, it isn’t supposed to be on a trail camera. Here one of the crew from Feathers and Fin’s YouTube page pranks his father by holding a big taxidermized buck in front of his trail camera. That’s grounds for serious payback, and you know Dad will have his revenge. Watch out, kid! Watch here

16. Deer Takes a Bus Ride

In our final selection, this deer crashes into the front windshield of a bus. It attempted to cross the road. Instead, it leaped across the road and jumped just at the right time. Therefore, it went through the front windshield and bumbled around the steps. Watch here
