Haynes Shelton

Haynes joined North American Whitetail in 2015, quickly becoming a significant part of the future of this legacy brand’s delivery. Raised on his family’s farm in Davie Co., North Carolina, Haynes realized his passion for deer hunting and the outdoor lifestyle at an early age through the mentorship given by his father and grandfather. After earning his Bachelor’s in English and minoring in Visual Arts at Hampden-Sydney College, Haynes began his career as Associate Editor for NAW. Soon his role expanded to include the titles of Associate Producer for NAW TV and Editor of Hog Hunting. With the retirement of 36-year Editor in Chief Gordon Whittington in January 2021, Haynes was recently awarded the role as the new Editor in Chief of North American Whitetail where he is sure to successfully carry on the outstanding brand legacy into the next generation. Only outranking his passion for traveling the continent in pursuit of whitetails is Haynes’ love of life’s two greatest gifts — Faith and family.

Laden Force

Laden joined the Outdoor Sportsman Group in 2016 as the Associate Publisher of Bowhunter and quickly rose to become Publisher of North American Whitetail, Gun Dog and Wildfowl magazines in 2019. Raised on his family farm in northern Missouri, he cut his teeth on bowhunting eastern turkeys, whitetail deer and a few small-game species. Since leaving the small town to pursue Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Business and Business Administration, his education and passion have driven a career of 15+ years in the outdoor industry with companies such as Remington, Zeiss Sport Optics and Bowtech. Laden is an avid outdoorsman who thrives on pursuing game with his bow, successfully harvesting several North American species. He has been lucky enough to move back to small-town northeast Missouri, where he and his wife, Jordan, are raising their three boys, Stone, Wilder and Zee.
