I harvested this buck during a fair chase shotgun hunt on a private farm in Iowa. It was my first trip hunting in the Cyclone state and it took several years to draw a non resident big game tag. The buck grossed 170 inches and has a uniquely narrow but very tall rack.
After sitting in the pouring rain all morning my persistence paid off at 11 a.m. when this great deer showed up in the wood lot that I was hunting. My buddy, the owner of the property, captured a few trail cam pictures of this deer during the summer in a bean field. It was my honor to harvest the "halo" buck, which we all had been dreaming about all fall.
Editors Note: Congrats on a great buck Tim!
