John Deitterick Jr., Maryland

Queenstown bowhunter John Deitterick Jr. made a 40-yard shot to anchor this mature Maryland buck. The rutting trophy was only half that far away, on a well-worn trail, when John first saw him; however, brush precluded any shot until the buck was at the edge of shooting range. John's arrow caught the massive whitetail in the spine, dropping him on the spot. The deer dressed out at 210 pounds and has a net P&Y score of 153 5/8 despite 14 7/8 inches of deductions.
