Rick Laney, Indiana
September 22, 2010
On opening day of the 2001 Indiana shotgun season, Bloomingdale's Rick Laney downed the 152-inch trophy buck whose sheds he'd found that spring. The sheds, here being displayed by the hunter's mother, Patty, were picked up just 400 yards from where the deer was shot. Kyle Laney, Rick's dad, says the 195-pound (field-dressed) buck was one they'd been seeing for a couple of years.
