Muzzy Moment: The Belly Bulge Buck

There's no doubting a buck's toughness. From shattered skulls and missing eyeballs to split tines and broken limbs, whitetail are a resilient and spectacular species. And the proof is in the proverbial pudding.


While checking trail cameras, Dr. James Kroll noticed a large buck with a peculiar bulge around his belly. With a team of fellow whitetail experts, Dr. Kroll theorized the buck was suffering from a hernia and wouldn't make it through the season. However, that's not quite the way it turned out.
