Opening Day Kansas Trophy, Mark Rankin

Opening Day Kansas Trophy, Mark Rankin

The opening day in south central Kansas, I was hunting a stand on a creek that overlooked a good sized CRP field. I saw a large buck with nine does at about 700 yards in an adjoining pasture and thought, boy, I hope they come this way.

Contrary to my usual luck they did. I stood and took a rest on a branch above my stand and shot at 7:23 am. I didn't have to wait till the last day this year! -- Mark Rankin, Springfield Mo.

Congrats on a great buck Mark!
